2-Day trip to Luxor from Hurghada

Tour programm:

Early in the morning, at 5 am, you will be picked up from your hotel in Hurghada and taken by air-conditioned bus to Luxor – a city often called the world’s largest open-air museum.

You will arrive in Luxor at 9:30 am. You can start your day tour by visiting the East Bank of the Nile, where the impressive Karnak temple complex is located. It is dedicated to the Theban trinity; the god Amun-Ra, his goddess wife Mut and their son, the Moon God, Khunsu. Its structure is quite fascinating, it is a mixture of crumbling pillars, chapels, temples and other buildings.

After visiting the Karnak temple, a short boat trip on the Nile will follow. There is an option to go on an optional trip to Banana Island, where you have the opportunity to see a banana plantation, crocodiles, and you will have a small snack in the form of freshly picked bananas and seasonal fruits (banana island for extra charge upon request).

Then you will have lunch at a local restaurant and time to relax. (Lunch included with drinks at an additional cost).

Later, your professional guide will take you to the West Bank of the river Nile, to “City of the Dead”, which is famous for the tombs built by the ancient Egyptians.

On the other side of the nile, we will stop at the Colossi of Memnon – Amenthotep III, depicting the pharaoh sitting on the throne.

Then, visit the famous Valley of the Kings, in which the tombs of the pharaohs of the eighteenth and nineteenth dynasties are carved into the rock. The amazing unusual arrangement of the labyrinth of corridors and the tombs of the pharaohs.

Another attraction you will see is the temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Your guide will tell you stories about her life and struggles.

At the end of the day, we will transfer you to a 3-star hotel in Luxor for 1 night accommodation.

The next morning, after breakfast, you will set off with a guide on a second day’s excursion. First, you will visit the Luxor Temple on the east bank of the Nile.
The Luxor Temple is a large ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the Nile River in the city of Luxor. It was founded around 1400 BC. The temple in Luxor was dedicated to the Theban trinity of gods (Amun, Mut and Khonsu).
In front of the entrance to the Luxor Temple is the remains of the avenue of sphinxes, which served as a three-kilometer processional route between the Luxor and Amun temples in Karnak.
In front of the left part of the pylon is a twenty-five-meter-high obelisk made of pink granite.

Visit the temple with a guide and then stop at a local restaurant for lunch. (Lunch included with drinks at an additional cost).

After lunch, head to the west bank of the Nile with your guide and start your visit to the west bank by visiting the temple of Habu. The monumental building of Ramesses III. The Medinet Habu is the most important building in terms of the history of the 20th dynasty.

Then visit the Valley of the Queens in Luxor. The Valley of the Queens is an archaeological site located near the Egyptian city of Luxor, on the west bank of the Nile, in the city of the dead.
In ancient Egypt, the wives of the pharaohs were buried here.
The necropolis has been used since the beginning of the 18th dynasty, when it served as a burial place for princes and princesses of royal blood and personalities from the royal court.
There are two types of tombs in the Valley of the Queens. One consists of only a burial shaft, while the other type is large and has a complex structure.

Finish your visit to the West Bank by exploring the Colossi of Memnon and head back to Hurghada.
